Gmail

I just read this is a Dutch Newspaper:

San Francisco - Google is going to protect drunk and emotional Gmail users from themselves. In the late evening hours and weekends users of the new software known as goggles are required to answer five simple mathematical questions within a minute before the mail is sent. Google made this known on Tuesday. The program is designed to prevent people from sending e-mails which they will later regret. 'Sometimes I send messages that I should not send, "says Gmail engineer Jon Perlow. "Like the time I emailed my ex-girlfriend that I wanted her back." Gmail users can set themselves whether and when goggles is active. "The program verifies whether you really want to send the message," says Perlow. "And how can you better decide whether you're in the right mood than by a solving a few math questions."

I think this is really weird. Nobody would use this or everybody would change the settings anyway if they really want to send a message. And I was wondering whether Gmail registers when you don't get the questions right. SO will Gmail know when your drunk?

This is pretty interesting. People definitely will change the settings either way I feel. That is a rather bold move by Google to take an action like this.

When is this affective?
